A group of children from the Help A London Child charity joined her for the event, where she performed in front of a small audience of 100.
Managing director of Westfield, Michael Gutman, said: ‘We are incredibly excited that Rihanna is launching Christmas for Westfield London.
‘She is a global star and has enormous appeal to our customers. Not only is her music of the moment, she is also a fashion icon.’
When Rihanna found thousands of fans waiting for her at the shopping centre, she tweeted: ‘Westfield Mall, London! It’s BANANAS in here!’
